"I don’t like to draw superheroes or perfect people," Japan-based artist and Spring 2021 cover artist Yusuke Hanai told us. "Our lives are always up and down. The guy sighing could be you, could be me, could be a friend, because we all have the experience of being down. Life is not so easy. We do stupid things we regret. Nobody is perfect, but we all have the power to laugh away the problems in life." 

This image feels like the embodiment of the last 12 months around the globe. Friends helping friends out, in a tough spot, supporting others you care about.
